Tools and Materials You'll Need:

Steps to Replace the Spark Module:

1.Turn Off Power and Gas:

Safety First: Disconnect the cooktop from the power supply by unplugging it or switching off the circuit breaker.

Shut off the gas supply to the cooktop to prevent any leaks.

2.Remove Cooktop Grates and Burners:

Lift off the grates and remove the burner caps.

Unscrew and remove the burner bases to access the cooktop surface.

3.Lift the Cooktop Surface:

Depending on your model, you may need to remove screws around the perimeter of the cooktop to lift the surface.

Carefully lift the cooktop surface to expose the components underneath. Be mindful of any wires attached.

4.Locate the Spark Module:

The spark module is usually a small rectangular box with multiple wires attached. It’s often located near the back of the cooktop or under the main surface.

5.Document Wiring Connections:

Before disconnecting anything, take a photo or make a diagram of the wiring connections to ensure you can reconnect them correctly later.

6.Disconnect the Wires:

Using needle-nose pliers, carefully disconnect the wires from the spark module.

If the wires are attached with clips, gently pry them off.

7.Remove the Old Spark Module:

Unscrew the gas range spark module from its mounting position and remove it from the cooktop.

8.Install the New Spark Module:

Position the new range spark in the same spot as the old one.

Screw it securely into place.

9.Reconnect the Wires:

Using your notes or the photo you took earlier, reconnect the wires to the new spark module.

10.Reassemble the Cooktop:

Lower the cooktop surface back into place.

Reattach the burner bases, burner caps, and grates.

Make sure everything is securely in place.

12.Turn On Power and Gas:

Restore the power by plugging the cooktop back in or turning the circuit breaker on.

Turn the gas supply back on.

13.Test the Cooktop:

Turn on each burner to ensure that the ignition module kit is working correctly and the burners ignite properly.

If you encounter any issues, refer to your cooktop's manual for model-specific instructions.
